Our Family Reunion was founded by Mr. William Pugh Sr., whom had a dream of getting the family together. In Mr. Pugh words, "I got with Shoat and we got this union started." The family reunion was organized in 1971 by Mr. William Pugh, Mrs. Perlina Thomas Pugh, Mr. Levy Richardson (Shoat) and Mrs. Fannie Thomas Richardson. These meeting first took place at their family homes in Eufaula Alabama and Jacksonville Florida. Our first reunion started with Hill, Pugh, Richardson and Thomas Families. The Hill family dropped out many years ago (before 1985) as other families were added. This reunion begin with cousins and in-laws. The family tree used showed each of these families names with circles around each family name.
The Thomas family was the first family to research and document its ancestors on a Family Tree, as it appeared on the front cover page at our Family Reunion in about 1990. Certainly this excited other families to search their roots. Family Reunion Name at our family reunions have not been consistent over the years, simply because we are more than just one family !
